sgt. flint : (24 April 2017 - 11:38 PM)

Hey All......anyone out there from 2 years ago remember me?

sgt. flint : (24 April 2017 - 11:39 PM)

just started playing WOT again and looking for a clan or group

bergsteiger : (25 April 2017 - 08:31 AM)

Crazy night. Got all my wins AFTER I quit tooning. Very unusual.

The_Dad : (25 April 2017 - 08:36 AM)

similar experience last night... all my wins were BEFORE I started platooning

NeoGP : (25 April 2017 - 10:25 AM)

Hey Flint!

xtc4 : (25 April 2017 - 11:28 AM)

With new mm, having good players at the top of the list seems to make a huge difference. And platooning seems to almost always put you at bottom of the list. So perhaps it makes sense that you good players are winning when playing solo.

Archaic : (25 April 2017 - 11:14 PM)

Yes, platoons seem to be pretty gimped with 3-5-7

sgt. flint : (26 April 2017 - 02:12 AM)

Hey Neo, yes i remember you. any others from the old crew still running?

NeoGP : (26 April 2017 - 10:17 AM)

not sure man..I haven't played wot in 2+ years, alot of changes throughout the 5 clans

SGrant7 : (26 April 2017 - 12:05 PM)

Haven't been on much in the last few days, but are 2 man platoons fairing much better?

bergsteiger : (26 April 2017 - 02:38 PM)

Platooning doesn't seem as big of an issue as Tier 8s. Don't think I've had a single game that I was top tier in an VIII

Old_Fart_63 : (28 April 2017 - 05:04 PM)

I've done two rooms in my home with bamboo and it worked great, Just remember to leave that space for swelling of flooring. Can't really add anything to what has already been said.

Old_Fart_63 : (28 April 2017 - 05:05 PM)

The new laminate flooring "No nails" is a big change in flooring and it looks beautiful

I am going to add some memory to my PS3 when I can swing the funds.I found a 500 gb hard drive on Newegg for just $60 that seems perfect.Holy crap was MS such a rip off for memory. It specifically states "PS3", but I did start looking for 2.5" internal SATA hard drive.PATA not supported by the PS3.

Here is the link on the Sony website for how to change your hard drive.Seems very easy.

https://support.us.p...isk-drive-(hdd)

Something they left out though is that you will have to update it to the current 4.46 OS.To do this, download the latest software update, which right now is version 4.46:

http://us.playstatio...pdate/index.htm

Simply put it on a USB drive in a folder labeled "PS3", and then a subfolder to that of "UPDATE".Now you should be able to get the PS3 started up.

And here is the hard drive I ended up getting since Garand suggested it, and he had no problems.Easy to install, I just wasn't expecting that extra step with the update since the Sony site mentions nothing about it when they instruct you on how to update the system.

And when you do this, you do need to back up all your data.I'm not really concerned about all the installed games, just my game save data, so I will just use a jump drive to store that on.Then just be sure you sync your trophies up before installing the new hard drive, and that you know your PSN id and password.Haha.

Just thought I would post up this data I researched today in case others are considering it.

I'll probably swap it out for one, too. I have a 500GB external just laying around doing nothing. Right now the PS3 I have is at 300GB. That should be sufficient right now since I don't have anything but games on it.

Yeah, its super easy to get a replacement and swap it out. Took less than 10 minutes, including unhooking everything from the tv and setting back up. I think you get into the iffy zone once you get around the 1 TB drives, but anything under seems to be pretty stable.

I upgraded my stock 80Gb to a 250 a few years back. I use the 80 for backing up family pics and such now, all you need is a cheap ($15-20) enclosure. Youncould also use it as a spare/back up for your ps3 still too.

Thanks for the tips. I'd like to up mine as well. I've already ran out of space once on it and had to delete most of the retail games I got last summer.

Hmm, very interesting.I think 500 would be more than enough, but to get 1TB for only $20 more and from Samsung seems like a pretty good deal.

Don't forget, or prepare yourself, a 500GB drive is actually going to get you about 440GB of useable space after the OS data is installed. That data is only a few GB last time I checked, but due to how data is calculated, you won't get all the promised space on a 500GB or 1TB.

NewEgg has a deal on a 320GB drive for $40 if you want a cheaper alternative. Some reviews are from people using on PS3 so no compatibility issues. I have a 250GB and have about half used with a dozen or so full games installed, including Dust and DCUO, and several years worth of my game saves/installed game data.

http://www.newegg.co...-_-22152288-L0D

Promo code EMCXRTW25 takes it down from the normal $50, which is still a decent price.
