Ayago: Dad in the Spotlight Nov. 19th - 23rd

Recommended Posts

There may be a lot of  :bs flying around, but I can tell that it is all in good fun. I look forward to getting to know each of my fellow fathers better, and I figure a good way to do that is to volunteer for DitS. And I think that will wrap me up for the evening. Tomorrow awaits!

There certainly is a lot  :bs flying around here  :lol but it is definitely is all in fun !! I mean, look at Piper, he wears a skirt and we still love him !!  :lol

This is a great way to find out more about each dad, so I'm glad you stepped up ! Great write-up on your family man !  :2thumbs

Awesome Bryan.  Love how you broke down each of your kids.  I love mine like that too.  Each has their good features, along with the bad that we overlook.  :lol

Wednesday - Job(s) and Hobbies

Well, my step-father owned his own company as I grew up so I worked for him as long as I can remember. I learned how to fix pop machines, how to sell stuff to bars and stores, the value of hard work and the importance of customer service.

At the time I couldn't stand it, but now I look back and thank him for the values he instilled in me as I was growing.

Well, I graduated high school and was super close to joining the Navy Nuke program, instead I went to Michigan Technological University for Computer Science. After a year of figuring out that I DON'T LIKE PROGRAMMING! I moved back home and got what I thought would be a summer/part time job dealing craps at the local Native Casino. I attended a local Community College for Computer Systems Technology (much more up my alley, building networks, fixing systems, doing hardware work) Well, the craps dealing turned into Blackjack and Poker dealing as well, then pit bossing, and shortly thereafter Surveillance. I've been watching people now for over 11 years, or as my kids say, "sitting and watching TV..."

I also was dragged into being a mobile DJ by my brother-in-law and I've been doing that in my spare time for the last 3 years or so. http://www.chanceencountermusic.com is my b-i-l's company. :trap

Hobbies include, gaming (mostly on the PC, some 360 action), tabletop gaming when I can (D&D or Pathfinder), reading, hunting/fishing/camping, I am a Ham Radio operator as well, callsign is KB8THC.

That is so sweet bro.  I often watch shows like "cheaters caught: Las Vegas" when it comes on Discovery and whatever other channels.  I love that stuff so much.  My wife gets so bored though.  She is always like "how can you watch this crap".  I tell her all the time I'm going to retire from law enforcement, and then move out to Vegas and do just that.  :lol  So yeah, I love your job, but I'm sure like Cops, your job is not as glamorous.  Still really cool though.

Thursday - Where have I been and where do I want to go

I've traveled south to Miami (South Beach was fun), East to Massachusetts (charter fishing out of Plymouth Bay was baddass!), North into Ontario (for a fishing trip near Wawa), which leaves West... I've been to Kansas City.  I have more places I'd love to visit than places I've been.  First on the list would be Ireland. My Mom's side is Irish, I'd love to see the rolling green there. Next on the list would be Alaska, I've always wanted to travel there, to see the wilds. Yellowstone makes the list as well, so many wonders of nature in such a small area. My step-dad lived in Corpus Christie TX and always wanted to take the family down there as well. Australia is another place I'd love to go to.

I guess this is going to be a shorter entry  :taunt so if you have any questions, shoot em at me!

oh and Happy Thanksgiving!
