I am , of course, aware of the reorganization. I guess my real question is this. I see clearly that DHO and DHOX are full. I also know some ( many ?) like to play and some even play actively but socially rather than constant stronghold battles etc. It seemed like some things went to the back burner over the Holidays and rightly so. Now that holidays are pretty much over what are the next steps forward. Are we opening up the remaining DHO clans ( 2-6) to additional membership ? Are there thoughts towards publicly stating certain clans are casual and others for those who want to play stronghold ? The two " active" clans are full...what happens to those who DO wish to be active but you don't really have a spot ? I know the Directors talk these things over but perhaps its time for some updates ? Nothing has changed. DHO is our clan for casual players and new recruits. DHO-X is our clan focused on high tier, organized gameplay with some admission requirements. The other clans ("Legacy clans" as I called them in the initial post) still exist and if you want to join them then we will work to find an officer that can get you an invite. As far as being full...they aren't full. There are mechanisms for purging inactive players and our COs seem to have decided that this will be done on an as need basis; i.e. active player wants into X so a place will be found for them in X by removing someone that has become inactive. There are a dozen X tankers that haven't played this month and more then 30 tankers in DHO haven't played. If this becomes more of an issue, perhaps a Legacy clan can be reactivated as a backup to DHO. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions or suggestions. Yeah, I needed to clean up the DHO-X roster for those who have been inactive for a month, just did that, and we are now at 88 players. I don't remember what criteria rewguy uses for activity, but DHO is in the ballpark of 70 active players. It still looks to me like 2 active clans is the right number to me based on the incoming and outgoing rates, just need to do a little roster house keeping. I would love to see our remaining active players (~100) who are spread out across 4 branches assimilate into DHO & DHO-X. Just seems like a better tanking experience for everyone, but people can do whatever they want. If that happened we'd have to decide what to do next. Mexas
I don't know. Im sure Directors have a more accurate view than I do. I suspect there is enough for two full clans ( DHO and DHOX ) and at least 1 more clan of semi-active and social players to about 70%. Does DHO actively recruit or are we mainly living on those who find us by accident ? No negative waves intended ( ala Kelly's heroes) just curious. I bump our clan thread on the WoT forum a couple times a week. That’s pretty much it.

I know that there used to be some active recruiting going on in the WoT forums. I believe Pierre ( @T34pzric ) had some posters in there that he created that people would bump back up to the top from time to time. Beyond that though, I don't think there is much going on in recruiting. Right now, I think most find us by accident. I'm sure if we really wanted to push up the numbers, a few people could throw a message in at the beginning of battles for those that aren't in clans. I know I've mentioned about our clan at the beginning of some of my matches when I see someone on my team with a "dad" in their WoT ID that is clanless. Sometimes I'll send a private message after the battle. Are we interested in trying to boost our numbers a little? Is anyone interested in writing up a little blurb that sums up the WoT DHO experience that people can copy and paste into the game at the beginning of the chat? Especially when they post required WN8 crap... and the guy that is posting doesn't even meet the requirement. Though, I'm sure it might grab a few more people out there that are on the fence about joining a clan. Or, people that have never thought of joining a clan and would enjoy the opportunity to platoon up with a bunch of like minded dads.
xtc4
My experience here and in various subclans of VPG suggests that the most important thing we can do to recruit is remain active. If we have lots of active players, we are visible in pubs. If we do clan wars, advances, and strongholds, our clan ranking stays reasonably high. If the ranking stays up, players find the clan when they do research. I think this has all been happening. It seems like we are getting a fair number of applications as it is without doing much. Sure, a really dynamic recruiter who enjoys reaching out to people in game can attract quite a few extra applications. That doesn't really happen from those stupid general posts; it happens more from personal messages and platoon invitations when you see someone interesting. There aren't that many people who genuinely enjoy doing this sort of real recruiting and are good at it. I would definitely encourage members to do it if you like. But even then, the clan has to be active to look good when the potential applicant researches it.

The only main difference with our group is that we require people to be a dad. People might see the tags, but many don't know what the tag stands for. Sure, some people might check us out and realize that they don't qualify, but I think the people we'd serve best are those dads that are running solo every night and don't know we exist. They'd like to platoon with a good group of guys and aren't really looking for the clan wars and SH experience. They don't want to platoon up with kids either. They are looking to platoon and hang out and chat with some people while blowing stuff up. Those are the people that are least likely to find us. MBKKGD
Just a thought, has anyone given any thought maybe changing our clan logo? Me personally I never really understood why we have that logo. It doesn’t speak out dad’s only, my thought is were a Bunch of dad’s and should have a more witty .emblem.We might be able to draw a few more people to look at our clan page to see the picture and learn more about us with something more relevant to what we are
