bergsteiger 81
wtfovr, you've opened up a whole new world for me. I didn't even realize there was camo. I have 100 of the base type in my port that I didn't realize was there. Is this a prize for something I did or has it always been there? So I've added camo to my other ships as well. thedakar thanks for the breakdown. I had a great game in my Phoenix last night that unfolded exactly as you described above. In many ways it feels like teamwork and strategic understanding are even more crucial in WoW than WoT.
wtfovr 61
Unless you win it, you have to purchase camo with credits or gold every single battle. I don't think there is permanent camo like there is in wot even for gold. Think of camo and signal flags as another kind of consumable. if you have stocks of camo, then you've won them by doing events or missions or earned them from supercontainers. Each camo does something different, you just have to see what each kind does. But basically there's 4 types: One which reduces your visibility One that increases enemy dispersion One that increases XP gained One that increases credits earned And then there's combo camo which have two or more of the above. I don't play with camo or signal flags because as I've posted previously I play only in coops with my son and that's just a waste of the camo/signal flags except on premium ships because camo on premium ships is free (the one that increases XP earned). The other camo you can install in place of the free camo still costs credits/gold bergsteiger
gpc_4 591
There is permanent camo for some ships...it is very expensive.
bergsteiger 81
Yeah, I earned some more containers last night and that is where I got the camo I think. I vaguely remember some way to click on a specific air group as several are flying nearby so that your guns target that one specifically. Neither left click or right click seemed to do it--is there a key I push or did I just make this up?
wtfovr 61
Do you have the manual AA captain skill? I don't have any captains that have that skill yet so I haven't paid attention to what key activates it. Until you have the skill I don't think you can designate a specific aircraft group for engagement with AA fire.
Granitebeard 121
ctrl+click the squadron (just like selecting a primary target for your secondaries), and it will focus on that one squadron if the weapons are in range. Other wise it will target the closest. Very helpful for torp/dive bombers being escorted by fighters. No captain skill required, the Manual AA skill just makes "large" caliber aa guns better(and honestly the other secondary/AA gun skill is better as it affects all the guns not just one at least to me). bergsteiger and bADiTCH
bergsteiger 81
Wow. Thanks Granite. I didn't realize you could target with secondary batteries too. Does it say somewhere in port what the range of your secondary batteries is? BTW, I added you as a friend in WoW.

Look at the secondaries on the modules tab (or are the secondaries part of the hull module?).
Granitebeard 121
Under artillery is where you find secondary info. Hover over the gun and it gives it's details. bergsteiger
thedakar 186
Also, if you hover over the icon of your ship (just above the compass) while IN GAME, you can see all your stats - gun ranges, detectability, AND you can see how many secondaries are still active.... very important if you have been hammered in game. It is possible that you have half your AA knocked out through HE spam against you. Knowing this might help you live longer - more maneuvering and less AA reliance. The Manual AA skill works only on AA of 85mm or higher. American ships with dual purpose guns (destroyers and SOME cruisers) get a 100% boost to those guns 85mm or bigger. The 20mm and 40mm (which make up most of the American AA power) are NOT boosted. That said, manual targeting by CTRL + LEFT CLICK (target) boosts all your AA rating against that target, by 25% I think (need to confirm). It also means that rather than spread out the rating on many planes, it is all placed on that target when it is in range, meaning you should kill more of that target... mean less torps or bombs when they finally drop on you! bergsteiger and bADiTCH
