Hmmm. I guess I don't follow Pc hardware much, but if you bought a GTX 970 there was a class action lawsuit that was filed and Nvidia settled.

Short version you're getting $30 if you apply for it.

Yep, got the notice today from Newegg.I have had no problems with the card and the behavior experienced by others.I do know the issue was mostly in the "false" advertising of the specs, but meh, whatever. A lot of reports of issues when you get into the 3.5+ RAM arena, but guess I don't tax mine to that spot for it to be of any consequence though.:-D

I will take $30 bucks though.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I'm happy with the 970 card I got for what I use it for. I don't play any games which push the 3.5gb limit. So the card works for me

But who am I to turn down $30 if they're handing it out.

People are getting emails about the GTX 980 and 960 too. if you google it, you can see where there may be other models combined in this as well. I received an email about one of my GTX 960's yesterday from newegg.

Got this from newegg today:

You recently received an email from us regarding a class action lawsuit related to a GeForce GTX 960 product that you purchased. This email was sent in error and was not accurate. There is no current or pending class action lawsuit related to the product that you purchased. We apologize for any misunderstanding this may have caused.

Just an oops on their end

Nvidia has always advertised hardware, not 100% true, just so they can stay on top of the video card industry. Back in the 90s, they were sued by the DoJ for price gouging.
