bergsteiger : (24 April 2017 - 12:42 PM)

Rough night last night. 1 for 6. Had to move on to WoWs, even though I did get to kill Grant ;)

Lucudus58 : (24 April 2017 - 04:23 PM)

Welcome to the forums sgt. flint :)

sgt. flint : (24 April 2017 - 11:38 PM)

Hey All......anyone out there from 2 years ago remember me?

sgt. flint : (24 April 2017 - 11:39 PM)

just started playing WOT again and looking for a clan or group

bergsteiger : (25 April 2017 - 08:31 AM)

Crazy night. Got all my wins AFTER I quit tooning. Very unusual.

The_Dad : (25 April 2017 - 08:36 AM)

similar experience last night... all my wins were BEFORE I started platooning

NeoGP : (25 April 2017 - 10:25 AM)

Hey Flint!

xtc4 : (25 April 2017 - 11:28 AM)

With new mm, having good players at the top of the list seems to make a huge difference. And platooning seems to almost always put you at bottom of the list. So perhaps it makes sense that you good players are winning when playing solo.

Archaic : (25 April 2017 - 11:14 PM)

Yes, platoons seem to be pretty gimped with 3-5-7

sgt. flint : (26 April 2017 - 02:12 AM)

Hey Neo, yes i remember you. any others from the old crew still running?

NeoGP : (26 April 2017 - 10:17 AM)

not sure man..I haven't played wot in 2+ years, alot of changes throughout the 5 clans

SGrant7 : (26 April 2017 - 12:05 PM)

Haven't been on much in the last few days, but are 2 man platoons fairing much better?

bergsteiger : (26 April 2017 - 02:38 PM)

Platooning doesn't seem as big of an issue as Tier 8s. Don't think I've had a single game that I was top tier in an VIII

joey791 : (27 April 2017 - 04:13 PM)

Anyone here play Disc Golf?

I'm looking to get into it myself and I would like a good reference on what to get as a starter set for discs.  There are a bunch of different ones on Amazon but not really knowing anything about the sport, I'd like to see if anyone here has any input.

I've played.

My brother is really into it. I've got about 10 discs.

Mostly I have used a driver for everything. But I guess if you really wanted to get into it get a driver, mid-range, and putter.

Look up courses near you and go play and then see how things go and then decide if you want something more specific.

No experience with disc golf, but as an a Golfer, I'd say start out with something on the cheap and make sure you like the sport first. When you get better, and if you get serious start moving up the ladder.I have a $150 set of golf clubs and I've never made it to a point I'm good enough or serious enough to shell out $300 or more for a single club or get into the thousands $$$$ for a set.

Get a cheap set and go learn the game first. Then move up.Of course, someone else may know which cheap set is crap and which is not.

I'm a golfer as well and I have a very nice Nike set of clubs ($700, $1k if you include the Nike driver I have) that I haven't touched in almost 2 years and I figured this will get me back into something exercise wise and the game won't take 3-4 hours to play.

I've been looking on Amazon at different starter sets.  Been reading lots of reviews on the few sets I've been looking at.

http://www.amazon.co...disc golf&psc=1

http://www.amazon.co...2PJF1WP864CTNDX

The first one has 3 different sets listed. 8, 4 and 3 disc set.

It also seems that in reading reviews, Innova discs are the way to go.  Read that DiscCraft discs don't hold up well to the environment.

Cool. I'm gonna go check out Academy and see what they have before I buy anything.  My step-brother told me that's where he gets all of his discs

That three disc set looks pretty good. I've got some discs like that. Innova is a good brand from my experience. Good luck!

Thanks man!  I'm going to look at Academy this weekend and see what they have and buy something since the price seems to be about the same as Amazon's prices.

Awesome!

The next thing to decide is how to throw your drives. Sidearm or regular frisbee style. Hahaha...

I do sidearm. My brother did but then it hurt his shoulder. So he does this crazy windup thing with a regular frisbee throw.

I can throw a frisbee regular or sidearm with both hands.  I seem to do better with my left more then my right. Seems to go straighter and farther.  I know these are weighted differently from the regular frisbee I throw with my kids so I'll have to practice and see what I can do with these.
