In the groups that I have been in I don't think that was ever mentioned. Maybe we just got lucky.

Yeah. I read that once before, but I didn't know that in HM you would need more damage.

yeah, we just found out this week (the hard way) We kept on detonating all 4 bombs, but he wasn't taking any damage and we would get penalized with the Shade/teleport part instead of having to run around avoiding meteors. Not fun at all.

The reasonyou 'time' setting off bombs is to make sure all 4 bombardiers make it back to the bubble alive.
Usually if you have 1 floater with ToM just let them continue to keep Oryx chest open.Have the other deal with the adds.When guys get back from keeping the bombs open you add into the fire against Oryx.
Always remember if you're setting off a bomb that it is more important that you trigger your bomb than you survive.Also you just have to be in the cloudy 'sphere' around the bomb not actually in the bomb which tends to distort your vision.

Well for the first round or two I would agree. On normal mode.
I tried to run Hard Mode with a PUG last night and staying alive is preferred.
Also in Normal you want to stay alive for teleport phase rather than be dead with less people to get teleported.
