Rewguy 79 made an interesting comment. WAS there an election or were the new Directors appointed ?

I don't know. Im sure Directors have a more accurate view than I do. I suspect there is enough for two full clans ( DHO and DHOX ) and at least 1 more clan of semi-active and social players to about 70%. Does DHO actively recruit or are we mainly living on those who find us by accident ? No negative waves intended ( ala Kelly's heroes) just curious.

Homeschooling: No Tie Required

We have " homeschooled" for many years now. We actually use a Public virtual charter school. Not every state has them but Texas does. WHat that means to me is the following. First, since it is a Texas charter school all costs are paid. Instead of tax dollars going to local school district they go to our Charter school. Second all online teaches are certified by the State of Texas . Classes are similar to skype. Parents are considered " learning coaches". State mandated standardized tests are still taken. They are given at a remote site. We have a love/hate relationship. I hate it that all schools teach towards the tests. On the other hand my son takes and passes the same state ( STARR) test as all the other kids in Texas. You can't say I am feeding him the answers, we aren't even allowed in the building where they test. The whole things is pretty flexible. If our son is having a good day maybe we go long. If he is having a bad day we cut short. If we want to travel we test or study in between stops. ( Actually we try to work slightly ahead all the time. So If something comes up planned or emergency we have a cushion.) We live in a busy neighborhood with dozens of kids. Our son spends time with his friends. He also has Karate and church. So he has plenty of social time. Teaching / learning coach has been challenging at times. Its been years since my High School chemistry or algebra. However, there are ways around it. One of the big advantages we have is this. In a brick and mortar school the teacher has to get say 30 lights to come on before moving on to next subject. We only have to get 1 to come on. If a class is easy we can double up or use the extra time on a class that is hard. Also....youtube !!! Almost any subject you wish to teach/learn is available on youtube. ( If you need something in addition to whats taught in class). Sorry, I have probably gone all over the subjects you will be touching on. -

What is the status of the reorganization ? I saw a post today that mentioned it on Discord. I am , of course, aware of the reorganization. I guess my real question is this. I see clearly that DHO and DHOX are full. I also know some ( many ?) like to play and some even play actively but socially rather than constant stronghold battles etc. It seemed like some things went to the back burner over the Holidays and rightly so. Now that holidays are pretty much over what are the next steps forward. Are we opening up the remaining DHO clans ( 2-6) to additional membership ? Are there thoughts towards publicly stating certain clans are casual and others for those who want to play stronghold ? The two " active" clans are full...what happens to those who DO wish to be active but you don't really have a spot ? I know the Directors talk these things over but perhaps its time for some updates ?

Hi, I'm in DHO4 tanks and I have gone back to playing some WOW. I like flat tops and have a tier 7. I don't do team speak too often as it bothers family, Anyway...love DHO and if you have any open spaces would like to get into one of the DHO WOW clans. Thanks, Mexas

I have some tips for you. One, be patient. reload is so damn long you want to shoot as soon as it goes green....DON'T Shoot ! Wait....your gun will aim in better.Give it another 15 seconds. Two, try to find a tank not moving. Sometimes that is easier said than done. Or find them bunched up....so if you miss you may hit the guy beside him. Third....think about hiding near a corner. Its nice to run...but sometimes your best bet if you are under sudden attack is to get to where they have only one way to come at you. More than once I have killed multiple enemy TD style. They come right where they HAVE to in order to get me and I knock em out. Love it when they come slowly one at a time instead of a bum rush. Have had 2 or even 3 enemy burning....the second and third have more cover....yet often they still come on just where I want. BOOM/Dead.

So??? Talk ! What are you doing differently ? Who is surviving and how?

Will try to make the training when I can. Always +or- family issues. I know I have lots to learn. I have learned part of my problem is bad lag/and/or lack of RAM. When playing skirmishes I was startled to learn rest of team was seeing tanks/maps about 2-3 seconds before me. Can't do a lot about internet but within next month hope to add more RAM memory. Have 6 megs now and hope to eventually get to 16. Until then......just keep on keeping on. At least my losses aren't 100% because I have bad reaction time.....which I do. Also at least partly because opponents are seeing whats going on and react before I get a chance to. Still, to get back to the thread, some extra training will help keep me under cover better.

I recently got an HP Omni10 tablet. Windows based ( A key must I think) and added memory to it. So....I loaded WOT onto the memory card......fired it up. Now is where I need help. It seems to WANT to work. However....after I get my tanks....pick one...enter combat......a couple of big problems. Like....no right click/left click mouse on tablet. Also the movement keys ( W A S D ) don't seem to work to move the tank. Any thoughts ?? I have heard their are people out their playing on tablets. You could use a detachable keyboard possibly...maybe that would get me movement for my tanks ?? If you tap the screen...the main gun fires. Hell...make sure no one is around...you basically look at the screen like you are thinking of tapping and the main gun fires. If anyone has played on a tablet I sure could use some help. Thanks

My name is Walter. Online I go by Mexas ( Or Mexanus). I just moved to Huston area. From Iowa/NE originally. I lived on South Padre Island ( TX) last 8 + years. When you live along the Rio Grande....it is a different country. Neither Texas nor the US count you unless they can make a buck. Considering all the border craziness...its more like a DMZ than part of the US. An example.....when you travel N to head towards Dallas....about 75 N of where I lived...was a US Customs Checkpoint. I argued.....we lived in Mexas...not the US. How else to you explain needing to clear a border checkpoint ?? :banghead Anyway...I was invited to this site by RebelTexan. I have 2 grown daughters and a 10yr old son with Aspergers at home. I have 7 grandchildren and 1 step-greatgrandson. I love playing World of Tanks and other games. However, real life, wonderful wife, son and work come first. A lot of my game play is at odd times. I am somewhat conservative. I am a Jack-Of-All trades. Partly cause I still cant decide to do when I grow up. Worked multiple factory jobs, dealt black jack on a riverboat casino, owned a cafe, played Santa, and conducted about 3 dozen weddings...though not recently. ( WHew).
