Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part Seven

Here we go with the week 6 operations for Operation: Nightfall, season 1. Let’s jump in.

Free Operation – Week 6

image.png.a3e3ace353dc579cb74b93e0eefe5130.png

1.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot using the holo sight attachment – must be done in the public contracts. The holo sight attachment is the primary sight 2 attachment. Unlocked at level 16. Just remember to equip this sight attachment and play some public contracts.

2.)    Eliminate 2 players by blind-firing – must be done in the public contracts. This task is not very sensitive because I was not even purposely doing blind fires and I got credited for this. Blind fire should be when you hold your weapon out, away from you and fire down a hall, out a door or out of a window.

3.)    Get 8 mutli-eliminations by killing more than one player at a time using any SMG – must be done in public contracts. I find most of my multi-eliminations is when you get kills without reloading. Helps when you happen around the corner and find two people. Down them both and then toss a grenade in there quick. It’s tough to get but as long as you have an SMG equipped, you will eventually get this. Much easier on smaller maps too, like Shoothouse.

4.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot, using any SMG – must be done in public contracts. Just have to get headshots with SMG, and you should be aiming for a headshot anyway.

5.)    Eliminate 16 players as Meiko (Contractor) – must be done in public contracts. Remember to use Meiko. Meiko has the Ninja perk which makes her quiet while sprinting, not showing up on enemy radar.

For completing the Free Operation for week 6, you will unlock the Raptor SMG.

Premium Operation – Week 6

image.png.6b867d24fbc560d58dd037904c069891.png

1.)    Eliminate 8 players using C4 – must be done in public contracts. Difficult to get. Definitely will help if you purchased the Node contractor who has the Afterlife skill allowing him to detonate C4 after death. Easiest on defense, and if you have the door blocker. You have to time it correctly and remember you have to hold that L1 button for a few seconds to detonate your C4. You must eliminate them, this will not count if you place C4 by a downed opponent.

2.)    Execute 4 downed players using explosives -  must be done in public contracts. Down enemies and then just throw a grenade. You just have to kill enemies that are downed. You can use C4 or any grenades.

3.)    Get 4 multi-eliminations by eliminating more than one player at a time with explosions – must be done in public contracts. You can use any grenade or C4 or grenade launcher. Impact grenades are the weakest grenades, so best to try your luck with regular frag grenades or sticky. Remember that the contractor Red can get one extra frag grenade or you can equip the Bang Bang skill on your favorite contractor.

4.)    Eliminate 4 players using frag grenades – must be done in public contracts. You could easily work on this while attempting the third task using frag grenades.

5.)    Eliminate 4 players using impact grenades – must be done in public contracts. Impact grenades are the weakest grenades, so it is easier if you get a few bullets into your target first and then hit them with an impact grenade. Unless you hit someone right on, you will not kill an enemy with an impact grenade if they are at 100% health and it just hits near them.

For completing the Premium Operation for week 6 and having the Ops Pass purchased, you will unlock the Falling Star trinket across all contractors and all guns.

Bonus Operation – Week 6

Coming soon - I haven't unlocked this operation yet.

Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part Six

Here we go with the week 5 operations for Operation: Nightfall, season 1. Let’s jump in.

Free Operation – Week 5

image.png.2fbe3d1aa96b7d830c9d796ed53d1cfa.png

1.)    Initiate 16 laptop hacks – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. You do not have to finish the laptop hack and win the game, just be the person who initiates the hack. Obviously much easier in solo but if you communicate and your team is nice, can be easily done in public contracts as well.

2.)    Locate and acquire 16 intel folders – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. I will post my grind video again at the end of this article. Easier to do in solo, but can be done in public contracts. Remember, there are 3 crypto and 1 intel folder pickup per map.

3.)    Eliminate 16 players while wearing the skull face paint – must be done in public contracts. You do not unlock the skull face paint until level 42. Get the face paint, remember to equip it, and then seek out the enemy to complete this task.

4.)    Use a signal modifier to speed up or jam 4 laptops – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. Very easy to do, you just have to remember to set it, or be alive at the end when on offense.

For completing the week 5 Free operation, you will unlock the lock-pick (wink-wink) trinket for all weapons across all contractors.

Premium Operation – Week 5

image.png.0b82eea7688ba96c041385f168c7243e.png

1.)    As Okoro, eliminate 16 players using the Volkov HZ (AK-47) – must be done in public contracts. You unlock the Volkov at level 15. The silencer and Iceman perk (reduced recoil) will help with the Volkov. Firing in bursts will also help as the Volkov is very inaccurate, especially on full auto. Play enough however, and you will eventually complete this task.

2.)    As Okoro, survive 16 enemy explosions – this can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. I am actually working on this during the grind video I made for intel and hacks on solo. Much easier in solo since the AI is pretty dumb. They regularly throw grenades as well as place proximity mines. Okoro’s permanent perk is received reduced damage from explosions. This makes it more likely for you to survive an explosion. You will still die if you hover directly over a grenade or mine, but you can survive more damage than any other contractor without this perk. Taking any amount of damage from an explosion and living will count towards this task.

3.)    As Okoro, initiate 16 laptop hacks – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. At this point, you should be an expert. You only have to initiate it, not finish. Will overlap with the same task for the Free operation. My grind video will be posted at the end of this article.

4.)    As Okoro, earn 8,192 crypto – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. Very easy to do, you just need to play. Even if you lose in public or solo, you will earn some crypto. Easier to get in public contracts since you tend to earn more crypto for your time in public.

5.)    Eliminate 8 players using frag grenades – must be done in public contracts. You have to completely blow up an enemy and it cannot be done to downed opponents. Must also be frag grenades. Will not count with impact or sticky grenades. Remember that the contractor Red gets an extra frag grenade, or you can equip this perk on your favorite contractor if you wish to use someone else and need some extra grenades to get this. Play enough however, and you will certainly complete this task.

For completing the Premium Operation week 5, and if you have the Ops Pass purchased, you will unlock the Lion Tooth trinket for all weapons.

Bonus Operation – Week 5

image.png.4d4a9303b9f34e0a63b7678a164e590f.png

1.)    Block 8 doors wearing the crow face paint – can be done in Terrorists Hunt solo or in public contracts. You unlock the door blocker at level 42. That is really the only hold up for this one. Very easy to do.

2.)    Eliminate 8 players while wearing raven face paint – must be done in public contracts. Just remember to equip this face paint on your contractor while playing multiplayer.

3.)    Earn 8,292 crypto – can be done in Terrorists Hunt solo or in public contracts. Likely easier to earn in public contracts as you are going to earn more money, but it can be done solo and you can find up to three 50 crypto pickups in each map.

4.)    Eliminate 32 players while wearing any face paint – must be done in public contracts. Just remember to equip a face pain, especially if you change your contractor. Easy to earn as you play public contracts.

For finishing the Bonus Operation week 5, you will get the Pixel face paint unlocked across all contractors. Remember, you must have the Ops Pass purchased in order to unlock this skin.

Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part Five

Here we go with the week 4 operations for Operation: Nightfall, season 1. Let’s just jump in.

Free Operation – Week 4

image.png.1f63f5810660b79cc9ccfbc5a179417f.png

1.)    Eliminate 4 players using any sidearm with the reflex sight attached – must be done in public contracts. As I previously went over in task 3 of the free operation for week 1, it is very hard to get kills with the pistol. Higher level players with access to the high damage sidearms will have an easier time, but this is still a very difficult challenge. You can find my blog for week 1 here.

2.)    Eliminate 16 players with a headshot, using the Spitfire – must be done in public contracts. You will unlock the Spitfire SMG at level 15. Be sure you aim for the head as that last bullet to down them must be in the head.

3.)    Get 4 player headshots using any sidearm, with a laser attached – must be done in public contracts. Hopefully while you are working on the first task for 4 kills with a sidearm, you maximize your damage you do with headshots and get this one as well. Just have to have the laser attachment on your pistol and does not have to be turned on. Very difficult to do.

4.)    Eliminate 8 players with a headshot, using any sidearm – must be done in public contracts. Basically you are just adding 4 more headshots to your third task. Thankfully they are counted together and not individually. I don’t know why you wouldn’t have a laser on your pistol if you purchased it since there is no other option for this attachment. Better to have it and not need it.

For finishing the 4th week’s Free operation, you will get the Sarge pistol unlocked. This is a very good pistol with moderate damage and a high fire rate.

Premium Operation – Week 4

image.png.3892a561414a98921fa560bcfac6f5c6.png

1.)    Execute 4 downed players using the knife – must be done in public contracts. You simply must go up and stab an enemy contractor when they are in the “downed” position. Sometimes it takes two stabs, but most time it is just a quick stab if you are the correct distance. You do not have to be the one to down them, just stab them.

2.)    Execute 8 downed players using explosives – must be done in public contracts. This can be done with any explosion from grenades to C4. They must be “downed” however. If you outright kill an enemy with an explosion, it will not count towards this task. Impacts and sticky count as well.

3.)    Locate and acquire 8 intel folders – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. If you haven’t read my previous strategy on these for solo, you can find it in my part 4, week 3 guide under the Free Operation outline, or at the bottom of this guide.

4.)    Use a signal modifier to jam 16 laptops – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. Very easy to get as you just have to play enough games in defense. As soon as the game starts, deploy your signal modifier. Preferably behind something or on top. The signal modifier was previously unlocked at level 21, but FCE has announced they lowered the required level, never stating the new level. I would guess you can now get this gadget around level 18 or so.

5.)    Bypass 16 access points – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. Very easy to do in solo. The access point is the first unlock you must hit on offense before getting to the laptop to reveal its’ location. Playing solo ensures you get it each time.

For finishing the Premium Operation with Ops Pass purchased, you will unlock the glowstick trinket for all guns across all contractors.

Bonus Operation – Week 4

image.png.409e7e346829632cf5ea177dc7e4445d.png

1.)    Locate and acquire 32 intel folders – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. Again, see my guide for part 4, week 3 in the Free operation for strategies to get these. Must quicker and more efficient doing this solo.

2.)    Complete 16 contracts wearing any face paint – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. If you have no face paint purchased, I can tell you that you will need the Crane, Zebra, Skull, Oni and Kaolin for later contracts. You should have the “glow” face paint unlocked at this point though.

3.)    Eliminate 32 players wearing any face paint – must be done in public contracts. Just have to get kills with any face paint. Remember to put it on, especially if you change contractors.

4.)    Dismantle 16 door blockers – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. In my grind video, going solo on Hotel will almost always have at least one door blocker that you can dismantle. You are never guaranteed it in public contracts and it is almost always rigged with C4. See my guide for part 4, week 3 in the Free operation guide for my grind video, or at the bottom of this guide.

For completing the Bonus operation with Ops Pass purchased, you will unlock the Starstruck face paint across all contractors.

Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part Four

Here we go with the week 3 operations for Operation: Nightfall, season 1. Let’s just jump in.

Free Operation – Week 3

image.png.67f40eab80050388a0c3c56f25a65a36.png

1.)    Locate 8 intel folders – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. I find it much easier to do this in solo as these folders are rarely placed in high traffic areas. They are general off the beaten path on maps, there is only one per map, and good luck being the one of eight finding it. I will post a video I made for grinding these and crypto pickups at the end of this section. For each map, there are 3 crypto pickups and 1 intel folder that you can find.

2.)    Execute 8 downed players – must be done in public contracts. Luckily with the latest update, the kill is awarded to the person who downs the opponent, not the person that finishes them off. No regret for killing someone else’s downed opponent now. They will get all the credit. You don’t have to down the, and it doesn’t matter how they are killed, just that you are the one to eliminate them.

3.)    Eliminate 32 players using suppressed weapons – must be done in public contracts. The suppressor allows you to shoot without popping up on the enemy’s radar, and for there to be less of a chance of them hearing you. It does reduce your damage and range however. I find them best on SMG’s due to the weapons high output of bullets, but you can use them on assault rifles or SMG’s. Pistols too, but I would strongly urge against this unless you are just a glutton for punishment.

4.)    Acquire 8 crypto pickups – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. Again, see task one. You will come across them more frequently during your playing of public contracts, but again with the competition from other players and not seeking them out, this is easily done in solo mode.

For finishing this operation, you will unlock the Tiger skin for all guns across all contractors.

Here is the video I made for grinding intel and crypto. I prefer the Hotel map because I can do a search room to room, leaving the doors open so I know which rooms I have gone. I do not find the intel folder on this run, but if you count my crypto pickups, I do end up with four, so I think the game just happened to glitch on this run.

Premium Operation – Week 3

image.png.e027724c29a97d252594b9dff8ccebdc.png

1.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot, using the green laser attachment – must be done in public contracts. The good thing about this is that you do NOT have to have your laser on for this task. It just needs to be equipped on your weapon, and of course, you must get a headshot. The green laser unlocks at level 18.

2.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot, using the red laser attachment – must be done in public contracts. Again, just like the first task, you simply have to have the red laser attachment equipped on your gun and do NOT have to have it on. The red laser unlocks at level 5.

3.)    Shine a beam from your laser attachment into 64 different spectate cameras – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. Obviously much easier to do in solo, but on some maps, as you run to the laptop and access point, you can sometimes see spectate cameras on the wall and shine your laser in them really quick. The spectate cameras are security cameras, and these are what you are switching between on every map if you die and your teammates are still alive. They look like little black discs on the wall.

image.png.5ab5a9864a187e1a5e29eecca4f9f3b8.png

4.)    Shine a beam from your laser attachment into 4 different laptop cameras – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. The laptop camera is on top of the laptop screen, and if you shine your beam anywhere around it, you will get credit. Pretty easy in solo or multiplayer, but many times I would forget, or the hack would happen too fast.

image.png.e2d08f1112b6129f7a178e1ebdd59ac0.png

When you finish the premium operation and have the season pass purchased, you will get the drone trinket for all guns, across all contractors.

Bonus Operation – Week 3

image.png.58e350803614b8f8674b3bab0276a39a.png

1.)    Block 8 doors while wearing the zebra face paint – Can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. You simply must place the door blocker (unlocked at level 42) on a door while wearing the zebra face paint on your contractor.

2.)    Block 8 doors while wearing the crane face paint – Can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. Same as the first task, you just need to purchase the face paint it and wear it while deploying door blockers.

3.)    Revive 16 downed friendly players using the revive pistol – Has to be done in public contracts. Like it states, simply revive teammates with the revive pistol. As stated previously, aim with your primary weapon, switch to the pistol, and fire without moving your gun and you will hit where you were aiming with your primary weapon. Revive pistol is unlocked at level 26.

4.)    Eliminate 1 player using the revive pistol – must be done in public contracts. This should be listed as “impossible”. OK, if you thought it was hard to get 4 kills with the pistol like me, then good luck on this one. The revive pistol does an extremely low level of damage to enemies. Not only that, but it is basically a tranquilizer dart. That means that it’s velocity is extremely low. You could fire it, and someone will literally be 4 feet from where they were by the time it reaches them. You must down them with the shot, and it cannot be simply eliminating a downed opponent. Should you wish to take on this challenge, much like my previous strategy for week 1 with the pistol, I’m going to have to recommend that you pop out of cover to shoot someone with a large burst. Then switch to the revive to hopefully finish them off. If you are close to them, this will work HUGELY in your favor. This is basically a Hail Mary pass from your end zone to their’s, and your team is down by 8. It could happen, but I seriously doubt it. Yes, FCE got my money and I just used a hack key right off the back. This is the reason hack keys were made.

5.)    Eliminate 32 players using any shotgun with the teabag trinket attached – must be done in public contracts. As I previously wrote in the Free Operations of Week 2 with shotgun kills, learn the perimeter. Try to outflank. Hide and wait. Listen. Remember that most players travel in pairs too, so try not to just run out and kill the first guy that runs past you if you are ambushing. Wait two seconds before you chase them down because you might very well end up with two quick kills. You just need to have the teabag trinket equipped on your shotgun.

For completing the Bonus Operation for Week 3, and having all the previous weeks’ bonus operations complete along with the season pass, you will be awarded the galaxy face paint for all contractors

Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part Three

Here we go with the week 2 operations for Operation: Nightfall, season 1. Let’s just jump in.

Free Operation – Week 2

2095948409_freeopweek2.thumb.png.ad982cfc43b701f8ded9603b65e9c87d.png

1.)    Eliminate 16 players using any shotgun – must be done in public contracts. You must down the person with a shotgun, and as long as they are killed when you down them (doesn’t matter who finishes them off or how), you will get credit for the kill. The Toro shotgun is worth the purchase when going after this task, or simply choose the default CQB class to save currency. The default shotgun that is unlocked, the Richardson, is a pump action shotgun and unforgiving. Shotguns are easiest on the map Shoothouse, but you also have to be aware that a high number of players are also switching to shotguns for that map. On other maps, you want to set up an ambush in an obscure location. Try to position yourself away from the laptop, but not by an access point. Use cover and wait. Listen. On Docks, I was notorious for setting up on the perimeter and waiting. When someone was coming, I would inch closer to the edge of the conex box and shoot a contractor as soon as they round the corner. Many times they were just running right past me, eager to just get to the laptop. Same for Warehouse. Wait until you hear them engage with your teammates in the middle, and then flank. Get close. One shot, one kill is very easy.

2.)    Eliminate 8 players with headshots using any shotgun – must be done in public contracts. This task is much more difficult than it sounds. None of your shotgun pellets can hit the opponent’s chest. It must be a clean headshot which means you need to aim high. Think of that opponent as wearing a baseball hat. You want to aim right where that middle, top button would be, or just a wee bit higher. Sometimes, from aiming so high, you will not immediately down the person. Be ready to fire two quick shots and don’t assume it will be “one and done”. I had quite a few matches where I outflanked someone, they had no idea I was next to them. I was able to walk right up to them, basically stick my shotgun to the side of their dome and pull the trigger. Guess what? No headshot. I didn’t think I had to aim high that close. You do. This took me longer than any other challenge I think because of that. It is hard. You have to train yourself to shoot over the person’s head, and be ready to fire multiple shots because only some of the spread will hit them.

3.)    Fulfill 16 contracts – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. Very easy to do either way. You must win the game either by hacking the laptop on offense, or successfully defending the laptop on defense.

4.)    Complete 4 contracts in Hanger – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contracts. The entire FZH community right now is sick and tired of playing Hanger. Whenever FCE puts out a new map, they make that map on heavy rotation. That means you will pretty much play this map every third match in public contracts, if not more. Of course you can do it solo if you don’t want to chance that when it does come around, your team loses. I would simply play the game and if this is the latest task you need to finish the operation, then switch to solo and finish it out.

5.)    Tap on 16 different doors – can be done on Terrorist Hunt solo or public matches. See my guide for the Free operation in week 1. Very easy.

Your reward for finishing this operation is the Richardson SG12 shotgun. It is a very good shotgun to have. Powerful, semi-auto, with a deep magazine.

Premium Operation – Week 2

326332243_premiumopweek2.thumb.png.f7fb9d480847ef2368ffe3d7e0cb5b2d.png

1.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot, using the reflex attachment – must be done in public contracts. The reflex site is affectionately known as “site 1”. You can use any weapon, and just must have this site attached. Again, just have to down the person. Does not matter who or how they are killed after that.

2.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot, using any assault rifle – must be done in public contracts. You can easily equip an assault rifle with a reflex scope and tackle both the first task and this task all at once. Assault rifles in FZH are: Taylor X-75 (unlocked at level 1), Taylor X-75 CQB (unlocked at level 7), Kruger (unlocked at level 7) Volkov HZ (AK-47, unlocked at level 15), G6-Commando (unlocked at level 30), Reg K8 (unlocked at level 35), JA-300 (unlocked at level 42), & H5 Hornet (unlocked at level 50).

3.)    Eliminate 4 players with a headshot, using any shotgun – must be done in public contracts. See above in Free Operation – week 2, task 2, for tactics. You will automatically be able to work on this task, as well as the Free Operation simultaneously.

4.)    Blind 16 players using a flash grenade – must be done in public contracts. When you are able to effectively blind another player, you will actually get a “hit” sound. The same sound you get when a bullet connects with another player. This lets you know that you have blinded someone, but for this challenge, it lets you know that you have gotten closer to finishing your task.

5.)    Eliminate 1 player while you are blinded – must be done in public contracts. The great thing about this is that you can use your own flash bang. Find a moment when you see someone that doesn’t see you. Quickly throw the flashbang to where you are both blind and shoot blindly. You can also kill someone just as you are coming out of a flashbang blindness for it to count. This is what happened to me. I blinded myself with my own flash bang, and as soon as I could see, I rushed the room and was able to kill the other enemy. Even though the effects had basically worn off to where I could see, I was given credit. I am not complaining.

For completing the Premium operation, you will be awarded with the stealth camo. Once again, you must have the season pass purchased to get this. You can still earn individual crypto and experience for each completed task, but you cannot get the stealth skin unless you have the season pass. The stealth skin is unlocked across all contractors and all weapons.

Bonus Operation – Week 2

453036433_bonusopweek2.thumb.png.9434379ff2bf54b036272a071e91cfe1.png

1.)    Fulfill 4 contracts while your entire team is still alive – must be done in public contracts. If you play this game enough, hopefully, you get this contract. By that, I mean hopefully you end up with a good enough team that no one dies. Statistically, you have to get this eventually. You should end up with good players at some point.

2.)    Revive 16 downed players – must be done in public contracts. Be a good teammate and revive your squad mates. If you have the revive pistol, it will be much easier. You can also do what Battlefield DHO dads have affectionately termed, “Magma someone”. This is when you revive someone without killing the person who downed them to begin with. As soon as the person is revived, they get shot right back now. Thankfully FZH limits your revives to two and you only have two bullets in the revive pistol (unless you use the character perk to have three), so this is limited. However, if you double revive someone in a match 8 times, you are done with this mission. Very easy.

3.)    Revive a downed player using the revive pistol (eight times) – you must complete this contract in public contracts. You unlock the revive pistol at level 26. The best way to shoot this is to aim your reticle or laser of your primary weapon on your down teammate, and then switch to the revive without moving your gun. If you shoot and did not move, your revive will hit exactly where your primary weapon was aimed.

4.)    Destroy 4 signal modifiers – can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contracts. The enemy in solo regularly places signal modifiers on defense, so this is very easy to get. Listen for the beeps as it will quickly get quieter once you take a step or two in the wrong direction. Look up, down, and behind objects in multiplayer. Players love to place these on top of items, in other rooms away from the PC and best of all on another floor completely.

For completing the bonus mission and having the season pass, you will get the Go-Nades trinket for all guns. I thought this was a dumb trinket I would never use, but I actually like it. It is big and obnoxious.

Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part Two

Now that I’ve laid out the meat and potatoes of the new features available in Operation Nightfall, let’s get to the main ingredients: the operations. One of the main reasons I have given this assignment to myself is because I could not find any information on the internet about how to go about completing these operations. No guides. No videos. No helpful tips. Therefore, I’m going to write up Aftr’s guide to the operations because no one else is doing it, and we are a very small community,,,,,,,so far.

Free Operation – Week 1

1.)    Eliminate 8 players using any assault rifle – very straight forward. Equip any one of these in public contracts and kill 8 players.

2.)    Eliminate 8 players using any SMG – again, straight forward. SMG’s in FZH are: ZS (unlocked at level 1), Stalker (unlocked at level 11), Spitfire (unlocked at level 15), Stinger (unlocked at level 20), HZU (unlocked at level 25), XM-R90 (P90, unlocked at level 30), Manta Ray (unlocked at level 45). Equip any one of these in public contracts and kill 8 players.

3.)    Eliminate 8 players using any sidearm – this is a very hard operation. Sidearms are separate to equip so there can be no confusion in what weapon you need to use, or which are classified as sidearms unlike the assault rifles and SMG’s. So with that said, let’s go over strategy. I tried running around with just my pistol out and could not get a single kill. Even if you outflank someone and they don’t see you, they will have more than enough time to turn and kill you once you start to shoot (even with headshots). So what I suggest is that you have to be very disciplined to do this on your own. You must hit someone with a burst from your main gun, and then switch to your pistol and finish them off. YOU CAN NOT JUST SHOOT A DOWNED OPPONENT WITH A SIDEARM FOR THIS TO COUNT. You must down them with the pistol and they must be killed. If they are revived, and subsequently killed by a bullet or grenade, it will not count towards your task. If someone else kills them while they are downed, it will count. If you kill them with another gun or grenade, it will count. Shooting around corners is good. Fire on them, retreat back around the corner, switch to a sidearm, come out and finish them off. Higher level players will have access to higher damage sidearms like the DH 44 (level 30) or Thunder (level 50) which will greatly help. Make no mistake, this is not an easy task, and if you look at my screenshot, you will see that I used a hack key in order to bypass this one as well as number 4 because I could just not get it done.

4.)    Eliminate 4 players using the knife – if you click in the right thumbstick, look stick, or rear stick on the AIM controller, you will stab with your knife. Although it sounds difficult at first, it is much easier than your third task. The best strategy for completing this task is corners and flanking. Once you start to learn the maps from playing, you can start to hug the outside perimeter of the map. This will give you opportunities to out flank your opponents, especially if your team engages them in firefights. You have to be selective on this. This cannot be something you seek out every match. It just has to be something you are aware of that you need, and should the opportunity appear, you seize it. Going around the enemy, and then coming up behind them, you may find you get the chance to stab them. Hiding in rooms until you you’re your team engage in a firefight with the enemy and then see what direction they are shooting. You can sometimes pop out of a room and stab them. Listen. These players move like a herd of elephants running. You can hide in a room, wait for them to run by, jump out and stab them. Hide in a corner. On a big map with big rooms like Warehouse, Hanger or Containment, you can sometimes hide in a corner and watch them run right by. They are looking for movement, and particularly if you are far from any objective (access point or laptop), they won’t be searching for you. Wait for them to pass, then follow and stab. What is hard is resisting the urge to shoot them as you are pre-programmed to do. You will miss many opportunities at stabs for your overzealousness for a kill. You will miss kills from chasing after knife kills only to have them turn at the last second to see you and shoot. It happens to everyone. The knife is a bit finicky too. You have to be the correct distance, and sometimes it will take two stabs, so be ready. Don’t just stab once and assume he will be dead. Stab, and stab again. Kill the oxygen between the two of you because dead air is better than dead you. Practice on solo play if you must to gauge that distance correctly and see the mistakes you can make when attempting a knife kill.

For finishing the Free operation of week 1, you will be awarded the Nightfall trinket. Remember, everyone can earn this trinket. You do not have to own the season pass in order to unlock this cosmetic.

Premium Operation – Week 1

35294842_premiumopweek1.thumb.png.e59f9c354515ae91614d20a1275a68da.png

1.)    Bypass 16 access points – Access points are the first objective you must hit when attacking before you can unlock the laptop. These yellow diamonds show up on your map once you hit a certain checkpoint on the map. If you don’t go in the right direction, or are too far away, they will not show up. Be wary if you have traveled more than a minute and they are not revealed. This means you are heading in the wrong direction and are more likely to run into the enemy team around the laptop. You must be the one decrypt the access point. This task can be done in the Terrorist Hunt mode solo or public contracts match. It is easier to do this alone as you can guarantee you will be the one to decrypt it every match.

2.)    Initiate 16 laptop hacks – like the first task, this one can be completed in Terrorist Hunt solo or public contract matches. Again, you must be the one to initiate the laptop hack, not someone on your team. You do not have to be successful in your hack, just start it.

3.)    Successfully fulfill 32 contracts – once again, this can be done in Terrorist Hunt solo or in public contract matches. For this, you must win the round and complete the laptop hack. If you simply play multiplayer games, you will eventually complete this task. It is just a matter of playing the game enough times.

4.)    Tap on 128 different doors with any weapon – this just entails you bumping into a closed door, with your gun, which makes a “clang” sound and can alert the enemy to your presence/position. The key wording on this task is “different”. You cannot just run into the same door 128 times. It must be different doors each time. New matches are new doors, so if you want to replay Embassy 60 times, hitting the same 3 doors each time, you can do that. This can be completed in Terrorist Hunt solo, or in public matches. It is really just about remembering the task at hand and purposely bumping into doors each time.

5.)    Scout 32 enemy players on your wrist tablet as Raha – for this task, you must play public contracts and select Raha as your contractor. Raha’s permanent ability is to detect enemies better on the wrist tablet. For this, you simply must be close enough to enemy players for them to appear on your wrist tablet. Easily done, but it does take quite a few matches as you rarely catch all 4 of them on your tablet. Usually you can get 2 per match, so it will take around 16 matches to finish this task.

For finishing the premium operation for week 1, you will unlock the pink jammies, but only if you have purchased the Operation: Nightfall season pass for $10. If you did not purchase the pass, you may earn the bonus crypto and experience for each task, but you cannot earn the pink jammies. Should you purchase the season pass after finishing all the tasks, your progress is saved and the pink jammies will instantly unlock. The pink jammies are unlocked across all contractors, every article of clothing, and every gun.

Bonus Operation – Week 1

1268676826_bonusopweek1.thumb.png.b3d044007a0cd152f15ee97ae87f9ad7.png

Once you complete both the free and premium operations, you will decrypt the bonus mission. Only once the operation is decrypted, will progress begin to be tracked towards completing your tasks. In other words, if you got any kills with the Omni face paint before having the bonus operation decrypted, they did not count. You may do these tasks for the bonus experience and crypto, but like the premium operation, you can only unlock the face paint for the completed operation once you have the Ops Pass purchased.

1.)    Eliminate 8 players while wearing the Omni face paint – pretty straight forward task. You must purchase the omni face paint for 1500 crypto and wear it as you eliminate other players in public contract mode. Be sure if you switch contractors while attempting this task, that you remember to equip this on the contractor you change to.

2.)    Eliminate 8 players while wearing the Kaolin face paint – same as the first task, just a different face paint. Again, you must purchase it for 1500 crypto, and remember to equip it as you kill enemy players. Must be done in public contracts mode.

3.)    Eliminate 16 players with headshots, using any assault rifle – refer to the first task of the free operation for which weapons are classified as assault rifles. You must kill with a headshot, so for this, aside from being sure to aim for the head (brought to you by Captain Obvious), you will have an easier time if you select a gun with a high accuracy like the Taylor CQB, K8, or G6. Pairing that with the iceman perk for your contractor which reduces weapon recoil will also help. If you hold down the trigger, remember that the spread of your bullets will open up, and you will find that many times the last bullet to hit your opponent that downs them will be the one that ended up in their chest. Once again, they must be downed with a headshot from an assault rifle and killed. They do not have to be killed while downed with an assault rifle for it to count, but they cannot be revived. If you down them with a headshot and then finish them off with a grenade, it will count. Many times I felt that I had downed an opponent with a headshot only to see that it did not count. When you down an opponent with a headshot, it makes a unique in-game sound as well to let you know you got a headshot. Listen for this, but it’s not completely necessary. Many times opponents are actually helping you when they are behind cover because the only thing you can shoot is their head. Thank you.

4.)    Eliminate 32 players using any assault rifle – no different than the first task of the free operation. See that task for which weapons classify as assault rifles. Must be completed in public contracts mode.

When you complete the bonus operation for week 1, you will unlock the glow face paint for all contractors.

Tips for Firewall Zero Hour: Operation Nightfall, Part One

With the latest dashboard update to Firewall Zero Hour (FZH), First Contact Entertainment (FCE) has added a lot of new features that many gamers are not aware of, or are bypassing altogether. Have no fear, I am here to help you make sense of the new dashboard and features.

Daily Tasks

1059936728_dailytasks.png.a910a899de5bffb47d90edc05e1d3570.png

The biggest change you are going to notice is that FCE has changed how challenges are played. Before they were hidden only on the main menu, and they were simply a constant that you could do to gain additional XP and crypto (FZH’s in-game currency). You now you have two ways to earn additional XP and crypto, and the old challenge system has been completely eliminated. The first is from your daily missions. Located in the upper left corner of the dash, you can click on this to display up to three missions. You will acquire one new mission a day and retain three at a time. There is no time limit for you to complete these missions. Most important however is that in the bottom right of the daily mission screen is a “refresh” button. You can click on this button, once a day, to rotate out your oldest mission for a new one (e.g. you are level 5 and you have a daily mission you never completed for kills with a G6. A long range assault rifle which you won’t unlock until you are level 36. You can click the “refresh” button and this mission will get deleted, being replaced on the bottom with a brand new mission). Your oldest mission will be the top most one, and your newest will be the bottom. You cannot choose which mission will be recycled so be sure that the top most mission is one that you cannot complete and want to skip. If not, you will have to wait to skip your hardest mission until it is on the top. So don’t get a new mission and immediately click the “refresh” button as you may accidentally delete a mission you could have completed. Should you have three daily tasks stored up and you finish one, you will find that you immediately get a new daily task. You can then use the refresh button if your new oldest task is impossible and you have not yet used it for that day.

Operations

operations.png.5e62e4a52a76e59dad8df33dd40a721b.png

Next is the operations tab. This can be found as the fourth tab over from the left on the dashboard. As of the time of writing this article, we are in week four of the operations with a planned twelve week season. Although a new operation is out each week, you have an unlimited time to finish them. A new operation week is unveiled every Tuesday. To finish an operation, you must simply complete the task described. You may have to get so many headshots with a certain weapon or with certain attachments. You may have to complete so many contracts, or find so many intel folders. Each weekly operation has three types: Free, Premium, & Bonus. Each operation generally has four to six tasks to complete in order to finish the entire operation. Once you finish an individual task, you will get a bonus of crypto and experience points. If you complete the entire operation, you will be given a reward that may be a new skin, weapon, or trinket. To get the free operation unlock, you simply must complete the operation. However, in order to get the premium operation reward, you must have purchased the FZH season pass for ten dollars ($10) from the Playstation Store. Without purchasing the season pass, you can still earn the crypto and experience points for each completed task, you just cannot earn the final premium operation reward.  You also will not be able to decrypt the final bonus operation. At the start, every free and premium operation is unveiled to the player. You can simultaneously work on the free week one operation while working on the premium week three operation. You cannot work on multiple bonus operations at once. In order to decrypt the bonus operation, you must have completed both the free and premium operation, as well as the previous week’s bonus operation. So for week one, you simply must have the free and premium operations completed. For week two however, you must have week two’s free and premium operation completed, AS WELL AS, week one’s bonus operation. So each week’s previous bonus operation must be completed before moving on to the next week’s. If you complete the operations and then choose to purchase the season pass, rest assured that all your progress is stored and you will immediately get the unlocks you have earned from completing operations such as skins and weapons.

Hack keys

1929076337_hackkeys.png.848bb40774fb5f877e8b440938d53f61.png

A bundle of five hack keys may be purchased from the Playstation Store for five dollars ($5), or you may purchase the season pass as well as twenty-five hack keys for thirty dollars ($30). You can only purchase hack keys, and there is no way to earn hack keys in-game. A single hack key will complete an entire operation, not just a single task. When you use a hack key, you will get the crypto currency for each mission you did not previously complete on your own, but you will not get the experience. Some people may prefer to do the tasks they feel they can complete before using a hack key to get the extra experience, and some may feel that they would not want to waste time on tasks they are going to bypass anyway with a hack key. The choice is yours, I am just here to make you aware of the consequences. You will get the reward of a completed operation when you use a hack key.

New contractor: Ruby

If you choose to purchase the season pass, you will also be awarded with a new contractor, Ruby, and her skill, thief. The thief skill allows you to take crypto currency from deceased enemy players. This skill is permanently assigned to Ruby and may be assigned to another contractor as their elective skill. With thief, you will randomly get an amount of crypto from enemy corpses, and depending on the amount, is how long it will take you to collect the amount. If you stop pushing “X” during collection, your contractor will end the collection process with a partial amount and you cannot go back to loot the corpse again. I have found that one corpse will give you around two hundred fifty crypto, while another will give you around one hundred eighty and they will take very long to acquire. The other two will generally give you a combined one hundred fifty and is very quick to steal from. This skill is best used when you do not have a lot of crypto as you can see that the amounts can quickly add some substance to your dwindling bank account. It is also a skill best used as attacker because if two or more of your team remain alive, you can easily run around to rob corpses while the rest of your team takes care of the laptop hack. This is a valuable skill to acquire all the expensive gear, but it is also a difficult one to remember to do in the heat of battles. It took me many attempts of going into a game with this skill before I remembered to rob the deceased. Be aware that this skill cannot be used in single player games, only public contracts.
